Section 2.10 • Common Vehicle Requirements
2.10.1
Driveshaft U-joints shall be covered with a minimum of .040 (1mm) aluminum, or 20 ga. (1mm) steel, or 20 ga.(1mm) expanded metal, or 1/8” (3.25mm) Lexan such that pieces are deflected away from the occupants in the case of U-joint failure. Material only needs to be installed between occupants and driveshaft U- joints.
