The 2027+ Ultra4 Rulebook is officially released.
Ultra4 is publishing the new rulebook more than a month earlier than originally planned to give teams more time to review the changes, plan their builds and prepare for the season ahead.
The 2027 rules are the result of months of work by the Ultra4 Rules Committee. Committee members reviewed competitor feedback, looked at the long-term health of each class and worked to make the rules clearer and more consistent while preserving the identity of the vehicles and competition within each class.
Key updates for 2027 include:
- Stock-class rules have been aligned to give teams a more practical path for vehicle setup and development, including updates to shock and tire requirements.
- Modified-class steering requirements have been simplified to open competition.
- SXS rules include updates covering increased winch requirements and permitted tire sizes.
- Course and event rules received minor adjustments to clarify situations that came up during the year.
This summary is not a substitute for the rulebook. Drivers, teams and builders should read the complete 2027 Ultra4 Rulebook closely and confirm the specific requirements for their class before making build decisions.
With the release of the 2027 rulebook, Ultra4 is also establishing a three-year moratorium on class rule changes. The goal is to give racers, builders and industry partners the stability to invest in their vehicles without facing major annual changes.
During this period, revisions will be limited to necessary safety updates, administrative clarifications and corrections rather than changes to the competitive foundation of a class. Ultra4 also plans to introduce an exhibition class during this period to give industry partners and builders a place to participate in future development through Ultra4 racing.
Thank you to every driver, builder, team member and committee representative who contributed feedback and time to this process. Not every decision was simple, but each discussion was approached with the shared goal of strengthening Ultra4 competition and creating a stable path forward.
Read the rulebook. Check your class. Build accordingly.
We’ll see you at the races.
