Levi Shirley First American to Compete in King of The Valleys
DODGE CITY, KS – June 14th, 2013: Levi Shirley, one of the youngest drivers to compete in ULTRA4 Racing will be representing the United States at this year’s 2nd Annual King of the Valleys set to take place in South Wales August 9th through the 11th. Shirley, who is just 21 years of age, is one of the youngest ULTRA4 drivers in the United States and the first to heard across the Atlantic to compete against the more than 50 European off road race teams expected to compete in this year’s King of The Valleys.
A native of Dodge City, Kansas, Shirley will be packing up his ULTRA4 car in the next few days to ship to England with enough time arrive in Wales for the August competition. The winner of the King of The Valleys has the option of having their vehicle transported to the United States to compete in the 2014 Griffin King of The Hammers Presented by Nitto Tire. Shirley is already qualified for the 2014 Griffin King of The Hammers after finishing in the top 10 non-qualified drivers at last month’s 4 Wheel Parts Glen Helen Grand Prix in Southern California.
The King of The Valleys course will be 80 miles in length and will tackle a variety of terrain from boulder-strewn river beds to fast-speed European rally tracks. About a dozen international teams travel annually to the US King of The Hammers race and it will be exciting to watch the first American compete in an ULTRA4 Race against International drivers on unfamiliar terrain.
