Backup Driver Allowed for Series-Committed Drivers of Record
Addendum to rulebook. Updated 3/2014
Drivers that have committed to racing either the Regional or Nitto National series may appoint 1 backup driver of record before the first series race.
Should a driver of record be unable to attend or compete in a race, the backup driver of record may do so in lieu of the official driver in driver of record’s vehicle. Backup driver of record must be appointed prior to racing the first regional race. Points and KOH qualifying positions will be retained by primary driver of record, and cannot be applied to any other drivers. The primary driver of record must race the majority of races in a series for his/her points to apply towards that series. For example: primary driver must race 2 of the 3 regional races or 3 of the 5 national series races for their points to be considered for standings and purse winnings.
If a driver wishes to appoint a backup driver, they must notify ULTRA4 Racing before the start of the season. A backup driver of record cannot be appointed once the series has begun.
