A Statement From Our Team regarding KOH 2021
A Statement From Our Team:
As we look forward to this year’s King of the Hammers, we want to take a moment to help clarify the steps we’ve taken to create a safe event for all. This is an entirely outdoor event in a remote desert location that expands over 92,000+ acres.
As the organizer, we have worked diligently for many months to progressively and proactively execute the event as safely as possible. San Bernardino County and Bureau of Land Management have reviewed the plans and determined the competition can take place. Currently, state and national parks, OHV areas, professional sports and other outdoor businesses are permitted with proper mitigation measures in place. The organization has implemented key guidelines ranging from required COVID testing, onsite COVID testing, temperature checks and health screenings, required facemasks and distancing within the gated all-outdoor Hammertown fenced venue that includes racers, staff, participating companies and ticketed individuals.
By design, to ensure we can operate as safely as possible, we have eliminated various attendance draws such as live music and other entertainment completely from our calendar. We are encouraging fans to watch the livestream and stay home.
King of the Hammers isn’t just a race. It’s a community and a family that we appreciate and want to protect. Whether it’s racers, their families, volunteers, local authorities, local community members, event sponsors and fans alike, we understand what this event means to you all. We will navigate this year’s event through these complicated times and look forward to a future where things return to normal.
