Airaid HoleShot Competition Announced at 2013 King of the Hammers
AIRAID and Hammerking Productions have announced an exciting new element to the 7th running of the Griffin King of the Hammers, Presented by Nitto. Dubbed the AIRAID Holeshot Award, this “race within a race” gives drivers an extra incentive to put on a show at the start of the King of the Hammers by pitting them against the clock to win $1,000 in cash!
Here is how the AIRAID Holeshot works: Drivers will leave the starting line for the King of the Hammers at 30-second intervals. Each driver will be timed from the start to a predetermined point on the course, approximately 1/4 to 3/8ths of a mile from the start. The driver with the quickest time within this section wins ten crisp $100 bills. It’s that simple! The winner will be presented his or her cash prize by AIRAID representatives once they make it back to Hammertown at the end of the race.
AIRAID Holeshot times will be announced regularly, with select times shown on the Jumbotron in Hammertown and also on the live feed. The winner of the AIRAID Holeshot Award is not required to complete the King of the Hammers, but there may be an extra incentive if they do!
All drivers starting the 2013 King of the Hammers are eligible for the AIRAID Holeshot Award, however they are required to sign up at the AIRAID display during contingency on Thursday, February 7th, in Hammertown, in order to be considered for the AIRAID Holeshot Award.
