2025 RACE RECAP
The 2025 OPTIMA King of the Hammers Presented by Ford Performance delivered intense competition across all races, pushing drivers and machines to their absolute limits in one of the toughest proving grounds on earth.
The Toyo Tires Desert Challenge Presented by Monster Energy saw Brock Heger claim victory in the Limited Race, finishing in just over four hours and 19 minutes in his Polaris RZR Pro-R, with Doug Mittag and Dallas Gonzales rounding out the podium in second and third, respectively. Christopher Polvoorde dominated the Unlimited Race in his AWD Mason T1, leading from pole to finish, while Kyle Jergensen impressed by securing second overall and first in the T2 Limited Class despite a significant horsepower disadvantage.
Brock Heger continued his winning streak in the Can-Am UTV Hammers Championship, leading nearly the entire race and adding another trophy to his growing list of accomplishments, which includes wins at Dakar and the Baja 1000.
The Yokohama Every Man Challenge once again delivered the most brutal terrain, intense battles and dramatic upsets. After a hard-fought race that saw Amber Slawson cross the finish line in physical first place, penalties reshuffled the standings, with Cody Young taking the win, followed by Slawson in second and Cameron Steele in third.
The ultimate test came in the Race of Kings, where Kyle Chaney made history by securing the overall win in a Can-Am UTV. Starting from the second row, he outlasted a brutal course that saw leaders like Loren Healy, Paul Wolff and JP Gomez battle through mechanical setbacks. In a dramatic final lap, Chaney capitalized on misfortune for both Blyler and Gomez to take the win in one of the most grueling racecourses ever made; so tough that only one vehicle finished after eight hours of racing.
