2026 TOYO TIRES DESERT CHALLENGE RESULTS

The Toyo Tires Desert Challenge Presented by Monster Energy brings high-speed desert racing to King of the Hammers, combining open terrain, endurance strategy, technical sections, and multi-class competition across Johnson Valley. Unlike the rock-focused brutality of Race of Kings, the Desert Challenge rewards sustained speed, precision, and the ability to survive hours of punishment across fast desert courses that leave little room for error. From Trophy Trucks and Unlimited Trucks to deep UTV fields, the event draws many of the biggest names in off-road racing to Hammertown each year.

OVERALL WINNERS

Desert Unlimited Winner – Christopher Polvoorde

Christopher Polvoorde earned the overall victory in the 2026 Desert Unlimited race, completing five laps in 3:59:28.603 to secure the T1 win in Johnson Valley.

Desert Limited Winner – Brock Heger

Brock Heger secured the overall Desert Limited victory in B3 UTV Open competition after leading the field across four laps in Johnson Valley.

Desert Unlimited Race Results

Christopher Polvoorde earned the overall victory in the 2026 Desert Unlimited race, completing five laps in 3:59:28.603 to secure the T1 win in Johnson Valley.

Ray Griffith led the T2 field and finished second overall after a consistent five-lap performance, followed by Jordan Brenthel and Justin Smith in a tightly contested Unlimited field. Chris Hertsch finished second in T1 competition, while Brett Sourapas and Rolf Helland added additional T1 podium-level finishes during the five-lap main event.

The 2026 Desert Unlimited race featured competition across T1, T2, Unlimited Buggy / Class 1, and additional Unlimited divisions, bringing together many of the top names in desert racing and off-road competition during King of the Hammers week in Johnson Valley.

Desert Limited Race Results

Brock Heger claimed the overall Desert Limited victory in the B3 UTV Open class after completing four laps in 3:30:21.582, finishing more than 15 minutes ahead of Sebastian Marquez in Johnson Valley. Ethan Groom, Cody Bradbury, and Branden Sims rounded out the top five overall finishers in a deep UTV Open field that featured strong pace throughout the race.

Additional class winners included Phil Blurton in B3 UTV Pro Modified, Sara Price in B3 UTV Pro Stock Turbo, Ian Torfi in B3 UTV Pro Stock NA, and Brad Lovell in T4 competition.

Qualifying Results

Qualifying set the starting order for both Desert Unlimited and Desert Limited competition during the 2026 Toyo Tires Desert Challenge Presented by Monster Energy in Johnson Valley.

RJ Anderson secured the fastest overall Unlimited qualifying time with a 7:21.970 lap in T1 competition, narrowly edging Christopher Polvoorde ahead of race day. Ray Griffith led the T2 field, while Shawn Croll paced the Unlimited Buggy / Class 1 qualifiers.

In Desert Limited qualifying, Corbin Leaverton earned the top position with an 8:16.766 lap, followed closely by Brock Heger and Chase Carr in a tightly packed UTV field.
